23 September 2014, Shenzhen, China – ZTE Corporation (“ZTE”) (H share stock code: 0763.HK / A share stock code: 000063.SZ), a publicly-listed global provider of telecommunications equipment, network solutions and mobile devices, launched new access-layer packet transport network (PTN) products in the company’s market-leading ZXCTN 6000 family to enable customers to build higher-performance networks.
The new ZXCTN 6180 offers the industry’s largest capacity and the highest port integration, providing 100 gigabits per second (100G) switching capacity and interface capacity. Compared with traditional equipment, the 3U-high ZXCTN 6180 increases 10GE (10-gigabit Ethernet) full-rate access capability by 150%, and Gigabit Ethernet access capability by 67.7%, making it the preferred equipment for complex multiservice access.
The new ZXCTN 6120S is the industry's first 1U-high 10GE product, enabling customers to meet 10GE networking requirements of multiple complex scenarios. With the new 200mm-deep design, the size and weight is reduced by 70% when compared to similar traditional products, providing the industry's highest integration. It supports wall-mounted, desktop, indoor cabinet and outdoor cabinet installation modes to meet the requirements of complex macros station and wireless room sub-station access. This results in the saving of space, equipment room and the investment on supporting devices.
The ZXCTN 6180 and ZXCTN 6120S are the latest members of ZTE’s industry-leading ZXCTN 6000 access-layer PTN product series. A leader in the PTN/IP RAN market globally, the ZXCTN 6000 family is deployed commercially by hundreds of carriers around the world, including China Mobile, China Unicom and China Telecom, offering excellent performance, mature and stable operation and is convenient to deploy and maintain.
The new products in ZXCTN 6000 series employ high-performance, low-power, new-generation integrated transponder chips and better product architecture which combines large-capacity, high-integration, low-power consumption and slot commonality in 1RU/2RU/3RU-high equipment to create the ideal access-layer 10GE packet transport equipment.
The ZXCTN 6180, ZXCTN 6120S and other new products in the ZXCTN 6000 family fully support 10GE interfaces, with all slots supporting a 10GE board to meet the needs of LTE and next-generation networks. The new ZXCTN 6000 family supports MPLS-TP and IP/MPLS protocols, offering the ability to transport 2G, 3G, LTE and VIP services, enabling customers to build a superior PTN/IP RAN network.
The rapid development of mobile Internet and the increased deployment of 4G LTE networks globally demand new solutions in the construction and development of the bearer network. Due to the large deployment of LTE base stations and the large-scale introduction of VIP services at the access layer, it is difficult for the Gigabit Ethernet access ring to meet that demand. More carriers are upgrading their GE access rings to 10GE access rings using 10GE packet transport equipment at the access layer.
Most 10GE access-layer 10GE PTN equipment available on the market now have limited 10GE port capability. They typically support only a small number of 10GE ports, with a small number of slots supporting the 10GE interface. In the strictest sense, most 10GE PTN equipment available could only be referred to as "quasi-10GE equipment", with limited applications and support for future upgrade, making it difficult to meet the requirements of operators as LTE networks develop and evolve.
The ZXCTN 6150 and ZXCTN 6180 are the industry’s only products adopting the common slot design. All slots flexibly support any board, providing no limit to the installation and use. The board application is flexible and slot utilization rate is 100%, the industry's highest.
In addition, the powerful hybrid networking capability, IPv6 Ready and H-QoS assure the high-quality transport of major services. Circle emulation protocol (CEP) allows the seamless interconnection with existing SDH networks. End to end mobile backhaul networks can be built with PTN microwave equipment. A perfect clock synchronization solution provides rich synchronous operation and maintenance delivering the following: Support SyncE, 1588V2, adaptive clock, and differential clock.
